When I arrived at school, the vibe in the hallways was crazy! It was kind of like a restless, yet exciting atmosphere. There were groups of girls that were so excited to go to the prom and dance the night away and take lots of pictures, and there were groups of girls who couldn’t wait for the entire prom thing to be over because they had had enough with all of the prom drama, like who’s going in which limo, where are we taking pictures, who’s having the after party, and who’s going down to the Jersey Shore (yes, like the TV show) afterwards. My group of friends shared a little bit of both moods. We were excited for the actual dance. But some of us were excited for the whole weekend to be over because the process of organizing our prom weekend was rough and stressful:

Get my gown altered by a local seamtress days before the prom, drive to Short Hills Mall on prom day to get my makeup done by my makeup artist Elena at M-A-C, get my hair done by my sister, take prom pictures with friends at my house, go to prom, and a group of friends go down to the Jersey Shore on prom night for the weekend.

My prom weekend was an AMAZING experience, and I highly recommend that anyone who has the opportunity to go to prom, GOES! There are always a lot of “I don’t feel like going” or “I don’t want to go because I hate dances.” But at the end of the night, those negative attitudes turn into a night that you will always remember!
